Description

Tane awoke to the sound of villagers outside. That, and the sun piercing through his window helped out a bit. As he rose from his bed, he put on his shirt and decided to see what was going on. He walked outside to find a mass of villagers mumbling at whatever hangs on the pole before them. He made his way through the crowd to find a parchment nailed to it, and read. Without hesitation, but without looking like being in too much of a hurry as to not worry anyone further than need be, he turned and went back to his house.

As Tane opened his door, he looked around his small shack for just a second. Then he proceeded to gather his things. He knew that whatever the meeting was for was important if they had posted notices in every tribe, and he had no time to waste considering Zomezy just happened to be the tribe furthest away from the Ancient Ruins. He grabbed his dagger that was hidden away in the drawer beside his bed and attatched it to his belt. He grabbed a few bottles and filled them with water since his route doesn't go close enough to Phasma Lake to refill, and grabbed only a loaf of bread considering he'll most likely be hunting for food on the way there. Tane packed a few medicinal things just in case of injury, a flint for fire, and a blanket to lay on. This trip will easily take most, if not all, of the week's worth of time to get there, so spending the night on the ground is a given.

Once he had his sword sheathed and strung around his shoulder, he put his arms through his bag's supports, and walked to his door. Before leaving, he took one last glance at his home. Although it was rather small, and nothing much was in there because of his traveling a lot as a demon hunter, it was still home to him and it made him slightly sad to leave even knowing he would return. Without another thought, he turned and closed the door behind him. He had a long trip, so there was no time to be goofing around.

As Tane was walking down the streets of his village, he kept having thoughts race through his mind. How important is this meeting? Is there a strong enough demon to put every tribe in danger? If there is, would they all even be able to stop it? He pushed these aside. All he needed to worry about was getting to the Ancient Ruins. That's it. Tane soon reached the edge of the village which also happened to be the beginning of the long trip down the mountain side. Nothing eventful happend as the few hours trekking downward passed. He eventually made it to the bottom and into the forests surrounding the foot of the mountain by late afternoon. This was good timing considering he had left in the later hours of morning. By the time he had weaved his way through the thick forests and could see Ridge Pass, it was beginning to turn dark. He unpacked his blanket, layed down and quickly fell asleep.

Tane woke the next morning surprisingly early. Before setting out, he had a quick drink of water and a slice of bread. Without wasting anymore time, he began to walk. Ridge Pass is a wide open area, and is usually dangerous to travel there alone because it's easy for demons to ambush you. Every once in a while there's a small patch of trees or bushes where they could be hiding, or a good place for someone to take a break. Staying alert, Tane continued, making sure that any noise that passed his ears wouldn't go unnoticed. After a few hours, he heard rustling behind him. He thought they would just be small demons jumping in some bushes or tall grass, but every time he turned his head, there was nothing there. He wasn't stupid. Something was obviously making those noises, so he never let them leave his train of thought. By early afternoon, the noises were more erratic. Tane was wondering if whatever was making the sound even wanted to be hiding at this point. He quickly turned and saw one... no... two demons. These were the lesser shape shifters. They were annoying, but luckily they can be slain easily. They're edible too, which was a plus for this long trip. To get this done and over with, Tane drew his sword, and was ready for a quick and easy fight.

Yey! Suspense and sucky writing? You can't beat that! :dummy: So anywho! This is for the RP group #The-Demon-Hunters and the first technical assignment. I might do a second part to this so you can see Tane actually get to the Ancient Ruins because this story was getting a bit lengthy XD Umm... I don't know what else to write. It's almost 12:30am and my brain is fried :B Enjoy! :D
